Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Director of Institutional Support, the Manager of Corporate Support supports and implements fundraising strategies to increase contributed revenue from corporations with a primary emphasis on stewardship of corporate partners. The team raises more than $1.5 Million for the Annual Fund via the Corporate Member Program; Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) funding; and customized sponsorship/partnership arrangements. The PSO pursues mutual partnerships and leverages PSO’s strategic vision to fuel significant increases to annual budgets. This role has the potential to include more responsibility for cultivating corporations at the grassroots level. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage PSO’s Corporate Member Program:

    • Work with the Marketing/Communications team on the design and production of all Corporate Membership collateral.

    • Write 3-4 direct mail campaigns per year, grant proposals as needed, and create other innovative strategies to promote the Corporate Member Program to the business community.

  • Manage benefits fulfillment to and stewardship of all Corporate Partners:

    • Collaborating cross-departmentally, oversee the activation of promised sponsorship benefits and recognition. This includes the maintenance of trackers/documentation with up-to-date obligations for funder recognition and benefits; employ proactive project management to ensure the fulfillment of complex sponsorship deliverables; and routing of PSO Marketing/Communications assets for internal and external approvals as needed.  

    • Prepare and send regular external communications such as the Corporate E-newsletter and invitations to scheduled Patron Engagement Events to maintain engagement with and serve partners.

  • Prepare Institutional (Corporate, Government, and Foundation) grant proposals/reports and sponsorship pitch decks as assigned.

  • Serve as a point person for the utilization of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program and prepare annual application to maintain EITC eligibility.

  • Manage the annual calendar of Corporate: solicitations, proposals/reports, events, delivery of benefits, and stewardship communications and other touchpoints.

  • Serve as the Corporate Support primary database (Tessitura) user. Responsibilities include gift entry, creating and sending acknowledgement letters, plans management, reporting and analysis, and general data maintenance.

  • Manage the PSO’s Dining Partners program in collaboration with Patron Services.
  • Assist the Prospect Research and Stewardship Manager and Director of Institutional Support in researching, identifying, and cultivating businesses to grow corporate investment in the PSO.

  • Participate in occasional Development fundraising and benefit events as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • At least two years of institutional fundraising experience, preferably in the performing arts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success with project management and comfort using project management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with at least one CRM database.
  • Extensive computer skills; fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Be a proactive, self-driven, and positive team-player that performs well under pressure.
  • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and/or weekends when necessary.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous sales/business development experience.
  • Previous experience with grant writing and reporting.
  • Familiarity and proficiency in Tessitura.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, i.e. computer, copier, scanner.
Compensation and Location:
This is a full-time exempt position with an annual salary between $50,000 - $55,000 depending upon experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes paid holidays, paid time off, employer paid health benefits, as well as retirement savings options with an employer match. Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh is the work location for this position. The PSO supports a flexible, hybrid work environment, which currently includes three days per week in-person work, including occasional work on weekends and evenings during PSO and Heinz Hall concerts or events.
